Last day at our church

Yesterday we were finally able to make it to church and while we were there I realized that it would be our last Sunday.  It was really sad because we have lived here for five years and we just joined the church this year.  We had finally found our church home and now we are leaving, who knows what sort of churches we will find in Grafenwoehr.  Not only that, but the church finally opened the new children’s building where Abby and Gabby had a blast. I don’t even think that they understand that they will not be returning.  Brother Gill made an announcement during the service, he told everyone that we were leaving and asked them to pray for us.  Now I am asking you, please keep us in you thoughts and prayers.  Please pray that I can find a job, and that the children handle to move well.

The “To Do” list is shrinking!

We closed on the house today!! Whew! So that is one less thing to worry about, now we have the moving sale tomorrow. Slowly but surely my “to do” list is shrinking; now we just have to:

  • Get all medical records
  • Pack all suitcases
  • Direct movers at three separate appointments
    • Storage
    • Household goods
    • Unaccompanied baggage
  • Throw Gabrielle a birthday party
  • Have my last dentist appointment
  • Get things we want to keep out of storage
  • Do a home inventory
  • Do those change of address forms

And that is just before we move. Believe it or not that is a lot smaller than it was.

Subscribe to our blog and I promise that I will keep it updated; Rusty has made it much easier for me. So as we experience Europe you can experience it with us through our blog and photo gallery!!

Update

So here we are with 23 days left until we fly. Last week I had to do the hardest thing about this entire move, I gave up Shadow and Angel. It is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do, I feel like a mother who put her children up for adoption. I know that they were not getting the love and attention they needed from us, honestly, since I had Abby and Gabby I had not loved them as much as they deserve. I can only hope that the new family they are with will give them all of the love and attention that I could not.

So yesterday we had so many things going on it was crazy, but we got a lot accomplished. Took care of some bank business, got the septic tank pumped out, got the termite inspection, and had our pre-move appointment with the movers. We also got our packet from our sponsor, it has lots of great information about where we are going and what we need to do when we get there.

So that is where we are. 23 days to go and busy, busy, busy.

We’re really going!!

Well everyone, it’s for real. We got our orders this morning, Grafenwoehr Germany here we come! Our report date is 31 August 2008. Much to my relief we will be traveling together as a family, Whew!

Just to update everyone, we are now interviewing possible new parents for the dogs. Several people have shown some interest, now it is just a matter of deciding who will love them best.

I resigned from the school board yesterday, so now I can focus all of my time on preping for the move. We already ordered our tickets, we have an itinerary. We leave from alexandria noon on the 30th and we arrive in Munich at 7:30 am on the 31st.

I will try to keep everyone updated on the progress of our move.
